She wasn't just any girl; she was Connor's sweetheart! With a playful grin, after dinner, Flora headed back to her room and, just as she guessed, there was Connor sitting at her bedside.

"Connor!" She darted in and flung herself into his arms. Connor caught her effortlessly, ruffling her hair with affection.

"Connor, I need to visit the training field tomorrow," Flora mentioned, bringing up her plan to meet Jacob Carly. Connor nodded, "Alright then, how about we make tomorrow a day off for training? An open day where parents can come visit their kids outside the training grounds. Mae could use the chance to see her child too."

"But aren’t we in a closed training period?" Flora questioned. Connor paused, his eyes soft and tender like morning mist, "You, my dear, are always the exception."

The Gilbert family truly treated Flora well, and he was happy to grant their wish. "Hey, have you been enjoying too many snacks lately?" Connor teased, gently pinching the soft part of her waist, "Feels like you've put on a little weight."

"Are you calling me fat?" Flora shot up, hands on her hips, glaring at Connor in mock outrage, "You! Called! Me! Fat!"

Connor stumbled, "I...did not."

"You totally did, and you said it loud and clear!" Flora accused.

Connor tried again, "I really didn't."

Flora wasn't letting it go, "You did, I heard it with both ears!"

Seeing she might be upset, Connor quickly backtracked, "I just meant you’ve filled out a bit more, not that you're fat. More like you've got a bit extra around the waist..."

He was practically tripping over his own words. "So, you are saying I’ve gotten fat!" Flora insisted, arms still defiantly crossed, "Oh, I see how it is. When couples are together too long, feelings fade. You don't love me anymore, right? You’re fed up with me, huh?"

Before she could finish, Connor silenced her with a kiss. With one swift motion, he pulled her closer, wrapping her in his embrace, and sealed her words with his lips. His breathing was a bit rushed, a bit frantic.
