Is Corbyn really taking Flora as his apprentice? No way!
Amos shook his head, "Miss Tara, you've got it all wrong. Ms. Flora isn't becoming the master's apprentice."
Hearing this, Tara's anxious heart relaxed a bit. Thank goodness. Corbyn had praised Flora in front of her multiple times, and Tara was genuinely worried that he'd take Flora under his wing. For some reason, Flora just unsettled her. It was as if Flora's presence threatened to take away everything Tara held dear.
Just as Tara let out a sigh of relief, Amos dropped another bombshell: "Ms. Flora isn't becoming Corbyn's apprentice! In fact, Corbyn has already taken Flora as his sister!"
Wait, Corbyn made Flora his sister?! No way! Tara thought she must have misheard. She forced a smile. "Wha-what?"
Amos could see how stunned Tara was and sighed, "Miss Tara, it's hard to believe, right? But the master really has acknowledged Ms. Flora as his sister. Which means, technically speaking, you should be calling Ms. Flora 'Auntie.'"
Tara's face went completely blank. Auntie?! Has the master lost his mind, calling a girl her age his sister? This is just ridiculous!
"It's getting late, Ms. Flora. We should head inside, or we'll miss it," Amos said, excusing himself and quickly leading Flora away.
Flora's eyes brushed over Tara, whose face was now pale, and she smirked as she followed Amos upstairs. Even as they disappeared from view, Tara stood frozen, feeling a chill run through her. Her gut feeling had been right! Flora was definitely trouble. What kind of trick had she pulled to get the master to call her sister? Was she plotting to overshadow Tara?
