Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life novel Chapter 1290

In the evaluation room, the atmosphere was buzzing. Corbyn and a bunch of higher-ups were all gathered around Flora, chatting with her, their expressions almost fawning.

Tara wasn't taken aback by Corbyn's special treatment of Flora—she knew he had a soft spot for her—but what about the other elders? Even Scott, who was usually so high and mighty, often ignoring Corbyn himself, was now circling Flora, rubbing his hands together and grinning like a Cheshire cat. How could he not? They were all eager for Flora to spill her medical secrets.

Tara felt a chill settle over her as she stood at the doorway for what felt like an eternity, a full three minutes, and not a soul noticed her. Finally, unable to bear it any longer, she gently cleared her throat.

“Tara, there you are! Come on in!” Corbyn called out, waving her over with enthusiasm.

“Master,” Tara replied, making her way over, her eyes flickering ever so briefly towards Flora.

“My dear, you haven’t met Tara yet, have you?” Corbyn said, introducing his star pupil to Flora. “This is my apprentice Tara, quite the talent. Tara, meet Flora, my newly recognized sister. Though you’re about the same age, in terms of seniority, you should call her ‘Aunt’.”

Tara was momentarily speechless. Aunt???

Forcing a smile, she said, “Master, since Ms. Flora and I are the same age, let's skip the formalities and stick to first names. Besides, we’ve already crossed paths.”

Flora’s gaze was icy as it skimmed over her, not a word escaping her lips.

“Okay, okay, whatever makes you comfortable.” Corbyn chuckled, clearly unfazed by titles.
