Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life novel Chapter 1320

Thunderous applause filled the room! Everyone clapped like their lives depended on it. Jules swiped away his tears with the back of his hand and said, “That was so moving.” But before he could soak in the moment, a cheeky thought crossed his mind. Grinning, he mused, “Now that Flora and Connor are hitched, maybe we can hit up Mr. Hawkins for some funds when we’re strapped for cash, huh? Connor’s loaded, after all. Asking for a few billion isn’t too much, is it?”

Kaylee watched the couple embrace on stage with a twinge of envy, her eyes brimming with admiration. “Flora, you’ve got to be happy forever. You deserve the best of everything,” she thought.

As for herself, she fluttered her eyelashes like butterfly wings and turned her head, spotting Rafael sitting in a corner. The dim lighting made it hard to read his expression as he silently sipped his drink. This man, shining like the brightest moon in the night sky, might just be out of her reach.

“Hey there, girl,” Ray sauntered over to Aisha with a wineglass in hand, his expression teasing. “Feeling a bit envious?” he asked with a playful arch of his brow. “Thinking about tying the knot?”

Aisha shot him a blank look. “What nonsense are you spouting now?” she replied.

“Just for you,” Ray grinned wider, unfazed by her reaction. “If Miss Aisha feels like getting married, I’d begrudgingly step up as your groom.”

“Buzz off,” Aisha said, not bothering to mask her disinterest. But her tone wasn’t icy, nor was it warm.

Considering Ray had cut ties with the Brimer family for her, broken off his engagement with Ms. Brigid, and ruffled the Reyes family’s feathers, she couldn’t say she was moved.

But still, she and Ray weren’t from the same world.

“How about a toast?” Ray suggested, raising his glass with a devilishly charming smile.
