Jackson chuckled softly, "What do you want?"
"I'll owe you one for now. I'll hit you up when I figure it out."
"Alright," Jackson replied, his voice deep and resonant, sending a little shiver through Fiona's ears.
Fiona wasn't just a sucker for a handsome face; she was also a total voice enthusiast. Hearing his voice was enough to make her heart flutter.
She touched her ears, a slight smile tugging at her lips.
Tsk.
This guy.
He really knew how to get to her heart.
Fiona and Jackson kept chatting on the phone until Fiona walked into the private dining room and finally hung up.
Louise had already returned. After being sick earlier, she looked a bit pale.
"Fiona's back, come have a seat."
Ms. Ashley waved excitedly at Fiona as soon as she saw her, as if she were her own daughter, a gesture she hadn't extended to Louise when she came back.
Fiona walked over and sat next to Ms. Ashley. Ms. Ashley's favoritism towards Fiona was obvious to everyone.
The folks from class nine exchanged glances, and Robert cleared his throat, teasing, "Ms. Ashley, you're so good to Fiona, we're starting to wonder if you're planning to make her your daughter-in-law."
Louise's face froze.
Hearing this, Ms. Ashley gave Nash a look mixed with frustration and disappointment, "I do wish Fiona could be my daughter-in-law, but my son Nash isn't quite up to the mark," she said, shooting Nash a glare, "Useless!"
Nash: "..."
Suddenly, the chicken leg in his hand didn't seem so appetizing.
