She nodded, nestled in Jackson's arms as they boarded the plane. Onboard were a few of Jackson's most trusted medical staff. As they saw Jackson carrying someone, they instinctively looked down, pulling out medical gear to tend to Fiona.
Having worked with Jackson for years, they'd never seen him this attentive to anyone. Now, with Fiona in the picture, they were extra cautious, fearing they might upset this important figure.
"Ms. Fiona, could you please roll up your sleeve for a check?" one of them asked.
Fiona was unfazed by the routine check-up. Just as she was about to roll up her sleeve, she heard Jackson clear his throat gently.
His sharp gaze swept over the male attendants nearby. "Out," he instructed.
They caught on quickly and exited the plane. Jackson's eyes lingered on the soft skin of Fiona's neck before he turned away, swallowing hard.
Sensing his emotional shift, Fiona playfully nudged him. "Why won't you look at me?"
Jackson's voice was low and steady, yet if you listened closely, there was a hint of nervousness. "Is the check-up done?"
"All finished."
Only then did Jackson look back at her. Noticing the undone button on her shirt, he frowned slightly and reached over to fasten it for her, his expression relaxing afterward.
From a nearby box, he pulled out a soft fleece blanket and gently draped it over Fiona. Then he offered her a thermos filled with honey water he had prepared earlier.
