Tyler slipped into the room quietly.
He lived there with a bunch of other guys.
As he walked in, a group of them were huddled together, deep in conversation, but they cut it short as soon as they spotted him.
Tyler made his way to his bed, got down on one knee, and pulled out a basin and towel from underneath. He headed out to the balcony, wet the cloth, and started wiping away the dirt and cleaning the wounds on his face.
The others watched him, trading looks, until one of them, wearing a black long-sleeve shirt, stepped up.
“Hey Tyler, heard someone’s looking to buy you out?” he quipped with a sarcastic edge. “Rumor has it, she’s quite the looker with a loaded family, wanting to whisk you away. Looks like you’re gonna be living the dream, huh?”
Tyler kept quiet, tending to the cut on his forehead.
“Can you blame her? With his good looks, it’s no wonder some rich heiress has her eye on him.”
Another snorted, “He’ll be in a whole different league soon. Might even marry into money, become a big shot.”
Tyler tossed the blood-soaked towel back into the basin, turning the water a deep red.
“Those rich girls, they’re just playing. Like she’d really fall for him? She’ll get bored in no time.” They chuckled. “Hey Tyler, wanna watch some flicks? Get some practice in so you don’t disappoint her in bed. What if she sends you packing?”
Their jabs got nastier, but Tyler just wrung out the towel and dumped the water.
Despite his lean frame, his grey shirt hinted at the strong muscles underneath.
Their goal was to humiliate him, but his unfazed attitude only made them angrier.
What really bugged them was Tyler’s cool demeanor.
Like nothing could touch him.
