"What?"
"The edited video."
Keaton was caught off guard.
He had never really delved into this kind of stuff, so naturally, he didn't have much experience with it.
"What nonsense are you spouting?" The two girls were visibly flustered, taking a while to get their bearings back. They pointed at Fiona with anger, "Fiona, just because you've got some backing now, don't think you can just spout off like that. We're all students here; we wouldn't know how to edit a video."
"Yeah, exactly, we wouldn't know how to do that."
Fiona smirked, raising an eyebrow and crossing her arms, "Oh? Is that so? Then how about we bring in a professional to see if this video has been tampered with?"
As soon as she said that, the girls' faces drained of color. They hadn't expected Fiona to be so assertive and shrewd.
Is she really just a high school student?
How does she seem to know everything?
"This isn't going to be cheap, Fiona. Do you really think just because you have someone backing you, they'll foot the bill willingly? Unless you've swapped favors, there’s no way you could be linked to the Woods family like this."
"Fiona, you're just an easy mark for everyone!" Patricia lashed out, pointing angrily at Fiona. "In school, you're all over Nash, and outside, it's the same story. Is there anything you wouldn't do?"
"Easy mark" was indeed a harsh label.
Fiona pressed her lips together, staying silent, her eyes cast down, yet within them was a chill, a depth that seemed to see right through things.
"I hope you keep up that bravado," Fiona chuckled softly and decided not to drag it out any longer. She took Jackson's hand and turned to leave.
"Fiona, what do you mean?" Patricia chased after her.
