Put on your headphones and tune out the world.
"Did Fiona really kick her?" Janet cast a doubtful glance over at Fiona. No matter how she sized her up, Fiona just didn't seem like the type who’d throw a kick that could break a rib. With a furrowed brow, she asked, "Are you sure you guys aren't mistaken? With her petite build, could she really do that?"
"Janet, trust us, we both saw it happen. We’re not making this up," Patricia assured her, pulling out a raw video clip.
As soon as the video started playing, Janet was taken aback. It clearly showed them provoking Fiona, but her kick was impressively strong.
"Oh, and Janet, guess who the principal called us to talk about regarding Fiona's secret backer?" Patricia teased, dangling the information like bait to stir up more resentment in Janet towards Fiona.
"Who is it?" Janet squinted, already having a hunch. "It can't be Allen, can it?"
"Nope, it's Jackson Nash."
Jackson!
Janet bit her lip. The Nash family was not to be messed with. So, Fiona really did have some connections.
"The rumors were true. I saw Fiona holding hands with Jackson, walking him to the school gate. They looked so smitten, it was enough to make anyone jealous," Patricia nudged.
"So what if they did? The Nash family wouldn't look twice at a girl with nothing going for her."
And considering Fiona's background, the Nash family would be crazy to let her become Jackson’s wife. Jackson was way older, and no matter what, Fiona wasn’t even in the running to be his mistress.
At best, she was just another one of the women around Jackson.
Being a high school student had its own advantages sometimes.
