Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life novel Chapter 1753

Fiona almost burst out laughing—this was logic gone wild!

Some folks just had the most outrageous imaginations and weren't afraid to say the craziest things. With a resigned sigh, she leaned back against the couch, crossing her legs with a confident smirk. "It’s not that I look down on folks with regular jobs; I just look down on you, and that’s all there is to it. Don’t twist my words. What does your reluctance to refund have to do with us? Since I took over, the tag shows it’s been sitting here for two months. Jane hasn’t picked it up or paid the balance, she only paid a deposit. I bet you’ve tried reaching her countless times, to no avail, right?"

Fiona’s words drained the color from the saleswoman’s face. She hadn't expected Fiona to piece together so much so quickly. Panic clawed at her insides, mixed with the fear of having to pay up in the end. Clearly, Fiona was a force to be reckoned with.

Her logic was spot-on, and the saleswoman couldn’t afford to underestimate her.

"So what? You took the dress, and that’s not changing!" the saleswoman retorted defiantly.

She assumed as long as she denied everything, she'd be in the clear. After all, the store’s security footage wasn’t just handed out, and conveniently, the camera had broken yesterday afternoon. The repair guy hadn’t even come by yet, so there was no way to prove if she was lying or not.

Feeling a surge of relief, she thought of the $25,000 commission she wouldn’t have to lose. If Jasmine and Fiona bought the dress, she’d still pocket that commission. The thought made her giddy.
