Jane's irritation hit its peak as she shook off the waitress with a cold glare and a dismissive snort. “How you all handle this isn't my problem. I'm done with this dress, got it?”
“Ms. Jane, this is intentional!” The waitress wasn't about to take the financial hit. Covering the cost of the dress would mean years of toiling away, potentially dealing with endless headaches. She couldn't just let it slide. She quickly pointed at Fiona and Jasmine. “Ms. Bryant, you took this dress down without permission. If Ms. Jane doesn’t want it, then the responsibility falls on you two.”
Fiona furrowed her brow but stayed silent, giving the waitress a measured look.
But Jasmine wasn't having it. How did this suddenly become their responsibility? Some people really had no shame.
She looked at the waitress incredulously, then stepped up beside Fiona. “Are you out of your mind? Or do you think we're easy targets?”
She gestured to the store's security cameras. “Get your manager to check the footage and see who actually took it down. Acting like we're fools with such confidence—does International Glam really hire staff this unreasonable? Didn't you get any sales training?”
The thought of the financial blow and the significant amount involved made the waitress indifferent to Jasmine's status.
Her eyes welled up, anxiety threatening to spill over. “Ms. Bryant, whether we got sales training or not isn't your business. I'm just talking facts here. You need to pay the full price for the dress.”
With a decisive thud, Fiona tossed the magazine she was holding onto the coffee table, capturing everyone's attention.
