Jane's words hit a nerve, and she slapped the makeup mirror out of Amy's hand, snatching the lipstick and slamming it onto the table. "Don't get too smug. You think I don't know how you managed to pull it off..."
Before she could spill the beans, Amy's face shifted, and she quickly clamped her hand over Jane's mouth.
"What’s gotten into you? Do you really think wrecking my stuff will make you the star at the party? Get real, Jane. You should take a long, hard look at yourself right now!"
Fiona, uninterested in their bickering, left the bathroom, changed into fresh clothes, and slung a black backpack over her shoulder before leaving the dorm.
Amy rushed after her, grabbing Fiona's hand and popping a croissant into her mouth. "Don’t spit it out. It’s delicious, and I got it just for you."
Fiona glanced at her, silent but with a clear distance in her eyes. Amy wanted to bridge that gap, but they could never go back to the early days when Fiona first landed in the States.
Fiona headed to her apartment, leaving Amy behind. Jackson was at the villa, and she didn't want them to meet. It wasn’t about disliking Amy, but Jackson was struggling with the Woods family, and she didn't want to drag him into this mess.
As she climbed the stairs, Fiona made sure Jane prepared an extra invitation for Tyler. If Josie was so eager for him to come, it was only polite to oblige.
