It was downright unexpected.
Tyler: Still turning it down?
Fiona paused for a moment, figuring there was no harm in making some money. She told Tyler they’d go ahead and take the Woods family's contract.
Back when they teamed up with the Bryant family, they promised to deliver the latest season’s designs, but her work extended beyond just a single season.
Rumors were buzzing that Fiona’s new designs were going to be a major hit, which is why when Jasmine handed over Fiona's latest creations to the Bryant family, they jumped on it immediately.
It seemed like the Woods family was trying to swoop in.
Hearing the door open, Fiona, with a face mask on, strolled into the living room and there was Jackson, right at the entrance.
“My phone died on the way back,” Jackson explained, dropping his stuff and wrapping Fiona in a gentle yet restrained embrace from behind.
Fiona led him to the room and pointed at the proposal from the Woods family on her computer, asking, “Did you know about this?”
Seeing Jackson shake his head, a fierce glint appeared in her eyes. “Just as I thought.”
Jackson not knowing meant this wasn't his doing; other members of the Woods family were pulling strings. But honestly, what was the point?
Everyone knew about Fiona and Jackson’s relationship, so why was the Woods family even attempting this?
“If I’m right, they’re trying to use this connection to get a grip on International Glam,” Jackson said, peeling a grape and popping it into Fiona’s mouth.
The slight tartness exploded on her tongue, making her scrunch her nose—she preferred her grapes fully sweet.
“Are you saying someone in the Woods family is outside Grandpa Woods’ control?” Fiona was a bit surprised, but mostly not. She continued, “No big surprise there. Grandpa Woods can’t hold such a big family together without someone getting ambitious.”
