Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life novel Chapter 344

Kaylee wasn't surprised that Flora knew Lance, especially since Connor was the head trainer. They were all under Connor's command, so it would have been strange if Flora didn't know them.

Handing Flora a bottle of water, Kaylee whispered, "Flora, I know you and Connor are engaged, but no one else does. The rumors are getting out of hand. What are you going to do about it?"

"I don't care," Flora replied nonchalantly.

"You don't mind what they're saying about you?"

"You can't please everyone. If I took it all to heart, it would wear me out."

Flora gave her a knowing look.

Kaylee felt a bit taken aback but then slowly smiled, looking into Flora's clear eyes. Right, who was Flora? She never cared about these things. It was Kaylee who was overthinking.

But as time passed, the rumors got nastier, making Flora out to be some kind of promiscuous woman. Most people didn't believe it, but that didn't stop them from enjoying the gossip. Repeated enough, even lies start to sound like truth. And for a girl, reputation is everything.

Everyone at the base was furious. These people knew nothing, yet they dared to slander their boss's fiancée like this! Flora, however, seemed unbothered. Let them say what they would.

"Shameless! She’s disgraced our medical department!"

"While we're training ourselves to death, she's just lounging around."

"You only see her resting during the day. You haven't seen her sweating it out in bed at night!"

The girls talking were close with Jillian and had heard plenty of dirt about Flora from her. They had never liked Flora. After a long day of training, they were hot, tired, and sunburnt, and seeing Flora relaxing under a tree only made them angrier, their words getting nastier.

"You're girls too. Don’t you know how important reputation is for a girl? Who told you to talk like this!" Cynthia couldn't take it any longer and rushed over, standing protectively in front of Flora, glaring at the girls.
