Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life novel Chapter 570

She couldn't help but hide behind Flora, silently chanting, "He can't see me! He can't see me!"

"Come out!" Colton shouted, spotting her behind Flora. "Ms. Flora, step aside, be careful she might—"

Before Colton could finish, there was a heavy thud from behind Flora.

The girl had collapsed, unconscious.

A curse got stuck in Colton's throat, choking him.

What on earth was happening?!

Flora furrowed her brows, knelt down, and checked on Nina's condition. Her breathing was steady, like she was just asleep, but Flora noticed something unusual.

Nina's constitution was unique, different from ordinary people, and she had a chronic poison in her body that seemed to have been there since birth. However, it wasn't something she was born with; it appeared to have been injected after she was born.

The poison had been accumulating for at least four or five years. Who could be so heartless to do this to a baby?

For now, Flora couldn't identify the poison, but she could help ease its effects a bit.

Flora pulled out a small bottle of specially prepared perfume from her pocket and dripped it on Nina's temples, philtrum, and behind her ears. Then, she took out a small knife, made a tiny cut on Nina's fingertip, and let some blood.

"Flora?"

Connor entered and saw Flora with her back to him, holding a knife with blood on it. His heart tightened, and he hurried over, only to see the girl lying on the ground.

It was her...

A flash of recognition crossed Connor's eyes as he asked, "What are you doing?"

Lance and Colton, who had been focused on Flora, quickly greeted him respectfully, "Boss."

Connor's gaze remained intense as he looked at Flora and the little girl.

"Connor, this girl is strange," Flora said as she let Nina's blood. "No one knows how she got past all the security. When I examined her, I found that her body is different from normal people, and she has chronic poison inside her..."
