Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life novel Chapter 636

Mr. Atticus cleared his throat, casting a reproachful glance at Orla.

Orla stuck out her tongue playfully, her charm undeniable. “I know, I know... I was just being honest... That paper really wasn’t good.”

She trotted over to Mr. Atticus, looping her arm through his, a hint of regret in her voice. “Professor, didn’t you say the folks from the University of Maple Grove’s lab were top-notch? I just don’t see it...”

She deliberately lowered her voice, but kept it loud enough for everyone in the lab to hear.

The reporters present felt awkward.

The University of Maple Grove was a symbol of Austenberg, and as locals, they naturally hoped for the institution to stand out.

But they hadn’t expected the University of Maple Grove to be... disappointing.

It was a blow to their pride as well.

Members of the medical community couldn’t help but chuckle under their breath, their eyes gleaming with undisguised mockery towards Darcy and her peers.

Mr. Atticus, filled with regret, turned to Dr. Ray, apologizing, “Dr. Ray, I’m so sorry. This child is spoiled by me, she didn’t mean any harm.”

Dr. Ray’s expression darkened. He gave a look to Darcy and the others, signaling them to hold back their anger.

Mr. Atticus and Orla were clearly provoking them, and losing their temper would only embarrass them further.

Orla, catching on that her words might have been insulting, approached Darcy to apologize. “Darcy, I might have been too blunt earlier. Are you upset? If there’s anything you don’t understand, you can ask me. I can teach you.”

The idea of being taught by a rival was the ultimate insult!

Darcy trembled with rage, barely controlling the urge to lash out.

The lab members were seething, their eyes burning with fury.

Alexa, however, was amused. Seeing Darcy and the others humiliated brought her great satisfaction.
