Connor: "......"
Jules: "......"
Jules never imagined Flora would say something like that. He glanced at Connor, then at Moss and Beck standing behind him.
Hit him?
His old bones couldn't handle that.
"No hitting, I'm outta here."
With that, Flora turned and slipped into the car.
Connor quickly followed.
Moss floored the gas pedal, and the car zoomed away in no time.
Leaving behind a bunch of bewildered faces.
Just like that, they left?
...
Inside the car, Flora sat with a frosty expression, silent, fiddling with her phone.
"Talk to me." Connor turned to look at her, growing more anxious with every passing second of her silence.
He gently tugged at Flora's sleeve.
Flora didn't budge, still engrossed in her phone, typing something with one hand.
Connor couldn't sit still anymore. He grabbed her shoulder, turning her to face him. "Flora, please talk to me."
"It hurts."
Flora frowned, her face blank as she looked at him.
Connor immediately let go. Did he hurt her?
"Why are you so worked up?"
Flora finally spoke.
"You're ignoring me."
"Oh," Flora scoffed. "I don't want to talk to you."
Seeing Connor's eyes dim, Flora cursed internally. Wasn't she the one who was wronged? Why did it seem like she had to console him?
"I want a crispy pie from Terry's, chicken feet, pickled beef, spicy chicken! And a Coke!"
Connor was momentarily stunned, then quickly nodded. "Okay!"
