Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life novel Chapter 864

"Doctor, how's Connor doing? Why hasn't he woken up yet?" Henrik was beside himself with worry, and Kruz was pacing around like a cat on a hot tin roof.

"I'm stumped. Connor's in a really odd coma. I've tried detox treatments, but they're not doing the trick." The doctor looked both troubled and baffled. In all his years, he'd never seen anything like it.

"What? My brother's not going to stay in a coma forever, right?"

"Mr. Kruz, don't worry too much. I've checked him over thoroughly. Connor's health isn't in danger—he's just temporarily out cold," the doctor reassured. "If everything goes as planned, he should come around by tomorrow morning."

"Tomorrow morning?" Henrik's anxiety was written all over his face. "Isn't there anything we can do to wake him up sooner?"

Where on earth could Flora be? And with Connor knocked out, what's going to happen with her?

"There's nothing more we can do," the doctor sighed. "We'll just have to wait and see what tomorrow brings."

Henrik's hands clenched tightly at his sides. Connor's condition was probably linked to Flora. He was sure Connor would pull through; the real issue was tracking down where Flora had gone.

"Moss, Beck," he said in a calm, steady voice.

"Yes, Mr. Henrik," Moss and Beck replied quickly.

"I need you to trace the route of the car Flora took, figure out where it went and where it ended up," Henrik instructed. He paused, then added, "And send someone over to the Reyes family, see if Flora's there."

His gut was telling him Flora might be there.

"Right away, sir!"

Moss and Beck hurried to follow Henrik's orders, but just as they were stepping out, Connor's eyes flew open!

He coughed up a mouthful of blood!

The blood trickled down his lips, staining the collar of his white shirt, making him look ghostly pale. His deep-set eyes and brows looked even more intense, his chest heaving heavily, and the veins in his face stood out starkly.

Great!

Just great!
