Ethan was floored.
Flora had way more tricks up her sleeve than he’d ever imagined...
Even the famous perfumer, Nathan, was her apprentice?! Now, that's something!
Nathan was a big deal in the perfume world! No one could top him!
Flora looked down at the old man, who seemed almost starstruck three steps below her, and her brow furrowed slightly.
Was this old guy...
Out of his mind?
She glanced over at Amanda, her eyes showing a bit of confusion, and Amanda seemed just as lost.
"Nathan, what are you on about...?"
Nathan, eyes fixed on Flora, exclaimed, "I've seen the perfumes you've crafted! Their purity, precision, everything about them is at a level I can't even imagine reaching. Age doesn't matter when it comes to learning; I've made up my mind to become your apprentice! I hope you'll take me under your wing!"
Flora's brow furrowed even more.
Was this old man obsessed with perfumery to the point of madness?
"Nathan, your skill in perfumery is unmatched on Lone Island, everyone praises you. Flora's still young, how could her skills possibly surpass yours? She can't possibly accept being called your mentor..."
Before Amanda could finish, Nathan interrupted anxiously: "Nonsense! Don't you think I know my own worth? I'm nothing! My perfumes don't even hold a candle to hers!"
"Please, Master, take me in!"
Flora felt a headache brewing.
"No."
She let out the word, sidestepped the old man, and took a seat on the couch.
If she took the old man as an apprentice...
She thought it over.
People would probably have a fit.
They'd say she wouldn't take them as apprentices but would take in an old man she just met.
