Melissa snapped, "I knew it! You're a Jansen after all. You're still trying to marry your sister into the Larson family!"
Serena turned back to her, her eyes deep and calm.
"Was I the one who forced Cole to find Sarah? If he has already slept with the girl, he should take responsibility, no matter if she's a Jansen or not. When Regina broke her leg, Cole couldn't wait to call off the engagement and got a harsh scolding from Grandpa.
"Surely you haven't forgotten that, have you? Or are you planning to raise your son into a selfish fool who runs from his own mess?"
Melissa's face twisted with anger at the reminder. She shot a vicious glare at Cole.

Her gaze swept over to Sarah.
"Cole might have opened the door, but did Sarah have to get herself drunk and throw herself at him? Melissa isn't wrong when she said you climbed onto his bed."
Sarah's face turned ghostly pale.

As she pieced it together, realization struck.
"Serena, this is all your fault. Someone spiked the wine in your room! A man barged in halfway through. I only ran to Cole because I panicked after drinking your wine!"
Everyone was stunned.
Hugh's fist clenched tight in an instant. How could the wine in Serena's room have been spiked?
Serena slowly came back to her senses. "So, are you admitting you barged into my room, Sarah? As for the spiked wine and the man…"
