Sarah's eyes were bloodshot as she screamed hysterically, "Yes, I do like Cole! What's so wrong about that? My only mistake was drinking the wine you left in your room to 'spice things up'! I shouldn't have listened to Cole and looked for him that night."
"I never told you anything." Cole's voice cut through Sarah's frenzied outburst.
He was still kneeling on the ground, his eyes as calm as still water.
He looked at Sarah emotionlessly and said in a steady voice, "I know how you feel about me. But tonight, I really was just too drunk."
Sarah's body visibly stiffened.
The invitation message Cole had sent her was still sitting on her phone. He was the one who asked her to find him.
If it hadn't been for Cole, why would she have sneaked onto the yacht and looked for him? She even ended up caught red-handed by Calvin.
Sarah wanted to speak up and defend herself. But when she heard Cole mention her feelings, she hesitated.
Cole was clearly trying to protect his reputation as the Larson family's heir by pinning all the blame on her. If she tried to drag him down with her now, would he stop loving her?
Without Cole's love, how could she ever beat Serena?
Her pale lips moved slightly after a long hesitation. But in the end, she just pressed them together and lowered her head in silent admission.
Seeing this, Melissa snapped, "Bitch! Were you trying to frame Cole just now by saying he was the one who asked you out? Cole is the Larson family's eldest great-grandson. He has seen all kinds of heiresses.
"Why would he ever stoop to ask someone as cheap and easy as you out? You're the one who drank and seduced him, didn't you? A scheming little tramp like you doesn't deserve to be my daughter-in-law!"
Rachel couldn't bear to hear Sarah being humiliated like that. She wiped her tears and knelt down in front of everyone.
"It's my fault for failing to raise my daughter properly! Mrs. Larson is right. It's all Sarah's fault. Last time, I should've been grateful when you pushed me down the stairs and made me lose my baby. If not for that, who knows if I would've raised another child as shameless as Sarah!"
