Claire is stunned, so Luke takes out his cell phone and makes a phone call. Soon the cell phone in Claire’s bag rings.
Claire stares at Luke. She is speechless for a moment.
“Why do you know my mobile number in France?” Claire is a little pale. She no longer struggles and asks weakly.
She has an American mobile number. She didn’t expect Luke to know her mobile number in France. It shows that Luke has fully known her identity and recognized her.
“As long as I investigate, there is no secret I don’t know.” Luke smiles cunningly. He comes happily and puts his arm around Claire’s shoulder. “Come on, let me know why you went abroad without telling me. Do you know I miss you so much?”
As Luke gnashes his teeth, he takes Claire’s key and drags her into her apartment.
As soon as they come in, Luke takes her to the sofa. Then he goes across to her and interrogates her, “tell me what happened!”
Luke stares at Claire. She points awkwardly at the kitchen and says cautiously, “would you like some water? I’ll pour you a glass of water.”
She wants to get up from the sofa.
“Sit down!” Luke pulls Claire back to her seat, and at the same time he stares at her clothes and grins eerily, “I didn’t expect you to cheat me. You’ve become bold these years.”
Claire is uncomfortable with Luke’s smile. She didn’t expect Luke to recognize her so soon. She is embarrassed. She’s not ready to face Luke as she was!
But she will face him sooner or later!
“You know what happened to Leo and me. He hurt me. Should I stay with him?” Claire relaxes and says seriously.
“But...” Luke hesitates for a moment and thinks it is be better to tell Claire what happened. “But Leo had already repented at that time. Why can’t you give him a chance? What’s more, he hasn’t touched a woman in the past six years. Since he had that car accident six years ago...”
“What? Car accident?” Claire is initially dismissive of Luke’s words, but at last she is shocked.
Why did Leo have a car accident six years ago?
Why doesn’t she know anything?
Claire’s shocked look surprises Luke. He looks at Claire suspiciously and asks, “don’t you know that Leo had a car accident six years ago? I thought you knew he was in a car accident but insisted on leaving.”
In the end, Luke can’t go on.

The readers' comments on the novel: Genius Son Sells his Mom to Dad
The storyline could have been better -- organization and cohesion of episodes could stand improvement, ending could have been more definitive resolving the many conflicts between the protagonists. Of course, the despicable treatment of Leo towards Claire initially, e.g., selling her off in an auction and giving her to the madam of the club as princess is inhuman and a violation to the wife's rights and honor. I was wondering why she did not leave after these maltreatments. Oh, well, the conclusion [if the narrative ends in Chapter 488] is quite disappointing and anti-climactic. Thank you just the same....
The end of the story is wanting, considering how the episodes build up to conflict after conflict and concluding in yet another conflict. But then c'est la vie! Thank you....
