“I just want to prove one thing. I don’t like you at all and I don’t want to seduce you! I’m not ugly and I can find a man. I can’t want to seduce a man with a fiancee. Don’t look at me like this, I’m seeking truth from facts!”
Claire says in one breath. She doesn’t change her face and shows a smug expression.
Leo looks at Claire with a little surprise. He didn’t know his secretary is so articulate before.
After hearing Claire’s words, Leo seems to think of something. He nods with relief and pats her on the shoulder. He smiles and says, “I see. Since you don’t like me, you can come to work in your normal clothes tomorrow. Don’t worry, I won’t like you either.”
“...” Claire is speechless.
Is what she said useless?
Ah! Why is it so difficult to communicate with him!
Claire is frustrated. She doesn’t want to change back to her normal dress now. She doesn’t want Leo to care about her appearance. Why can’t he face her in a way that he can accept her no matter what she looks like?
What’s more, if she recovers, she has to deal with Tracy. Claire is in a bad mood at the thought of her!
After thinking about it, Claire decides to fight for more for herself. “President, I don’t want to change...”
“You have to do that. This is an order!” Leo says domineering.
“Excuse me, why?” Claire looks at him calmly.
“Because I’m your boss!” Leo says it in a domineering way.
However, when Claire hears this, she suddenly bursts into anger! Since you have to be so tough and use your identity to suppress me, I’ll let you do it!
Claire glares angrily at Leo and says, “in that case, I’ll apply for leaving now! I quit!”
Claire doesn’t believe Leo cares so much about her appearance!
Hearing this, Leo says seriously, “I don’t approve.”
Even if Leo says that, Claire still wants to leave. “It’s no use that you stop me. Anyway, I quit! I’ll deliver the resignation letter to your office later.”
With that, Claire bypasses Leo and returns to her seat. She takes the pen and paper and begins to write.
Leo looks at Claire coldly and kindly reminds her, “even if you write it, it’s useless. I won’t take it.”
“It’s not up to you!” Claire glares at him and lowers her head to write.
“Really?” Leo smiles. “In that case, I’d like to see how you can give this letter to me. As long as it’s not handed to me for a day, you can’t leave!”
Claire is wondering what he means when Leo suddenly walks straight to the office and doesn’t even look at her.
Claire pouts. He may be thinking of a bad idea. It doesn’t matter. Even if he doesn’t accept it, she must give it to him.
Three minutes later, she enters Leo’s office. Claire angrily throws the resignation letter to him and says angrily, “resignation letter! I’m not going to do this boring job!”
However, Leo does not take it. The resignation letter falls to the ground. He just raises his eyebrows. “I said that as long as this letter isn’t delivered to me personally, you don’t really quit.”

The readers' comments on the novel: Genius Son Sells his Mom to Dad
The storyline could have been better -- organization and cohesion of episodes could stand improvement, ending could have been more definitive resolving the many conflicts between the protagonists. Of course, the despicable treatment of Leo towards Claire initially, e.g., selling her off in an auction and giving her to the madam of the club as princess is inhuman and a violation to the wife's rights and honor. I was wondering why she did not leave after these maltreatments. Oh, well, the conclusion [if the narrative ends in Chapter 488] is quite disappointing and anti-climactic. Thank you just the same....
The end of the story is wanting, considering how the episodes build up to conflict after conflict and concluding in yet another conflict. But then c'est la vie! Thank you....
