When Allison had a bit too much to drink, her voice turned all soft and sweet, with a playful lilt at the end that was just irresistible.
Joshua felt like he'd been hit by a lightning bolt.
It was like someone had lit a fire inside him out of nowhere.
Down in the audience, Joy's eyes were practically sparkling as she captured the scene on her phone. She nudged her coworker excitedly. "This is gold! They're the real deal!"
Her colleague nodded in agreement. "They’re like a fairy-tale couple! I'd sacrifice anything just to see them happy together!"
Behind them, Brian let out an exaggerated groan and slapped his forehead. "Why am I torturing myself by watching this love fest when I'm single? Talk about shooting myself in the foot!"
Joshua was caught off guard by Allison's repeated calls of "husband" before it hit him that he needed to get her off the stage.
He scooped her up in a classic bridal carry and started heading down.
Allison instinctively wrapped her arms around his neck, staring up at him like he was the only guy in the world.
How could anyone look this good?
He was like a character straight out of a romance novel.
Completely captivated, Allison started babbling, "Hang out with me tonight... I’ve got cash. Whatever you want, it's yours, hehe."
As Joshua walked past Brian, the guy couldn't help but burst into laughter.
"Ha ha ha, are you trying to hire him or something?"
Joshua shot him a look that could cut steel.
Brian quickly mimed zipping his lips, signaling he'd keep quiet.
