Joshua subtly sidestepped to avoid any contact, keeping his cool. Lillian paused for a moment, then flashed a bright smile as if nothing happened. "Hey, Joshua!"

Joshua just gave a short nod, not showing much emotion.

Lillian turned to Allison and her smile faded into a polite nod. "Allison."

Allison nodded back slightly.

Behind Lillian were two unfamiliar faces. She introduced them, "These are my friends, Maddie and Celena."

"Oh, and by the way, Celena brought a new friend. Let me introduce you all."

With that, Lillian turned her head and called out, "Shawn, they're all here."

Just as Lillian spoke, a face all too familiar came into view. Shawn strolled over, wearing a slate-gray jacket and holding a trekking pole.

Allison stayed quiet. Her lips were pressed together as she pretended not to recognize Shawn.

Shawn, however, gave a knowing smile and greeted her, "Allison, long time no see."

Lillian turned to Allison, surprised. "Allison, you know him?"

Allison responded, "No, I don't."
