Girl Get Rid Of That Jerk (Williams and Shawn) novel Chapter 202

Allison hung up the phone and warmly welcomed Paige's daughter-in-law, "Come on in, please."

As they chatted, Allison discovered that this lady called Shannon was forty-seven and had a daughter two years younger than her, who was teaching at an elementary school.

"Allison, Mr. Fisher mentioned you love these foods, so I grabbed a bit of everything. What do you feel like having for dinner?" Shannon asked as she came in with two big bags of fresh veggies and meats from the membership-only supermarket.

Allison grinned, "If Joshua said that, then I'm sure I'll like it all. You can decide the dishes."

"Perfect! Mr. Fisher specifically told me to shop at that big supermarket on the west side. It was my first time there, and you need a membership just to get in. Everything's pretty pricey, but the labels say they're organic, so it must be top-notch, right?"

Shannon's friendly and down-to-earth nature made her instantly likable, and Allison enjoyed her company.

"Ms. Allison, you've grown up so much. I wonder if you remember me. I used to hold you when you were little."

Allison paused, a vague memory coming to mind. She chuckled, "You don’t need to be so formal. Just call me Allie."

Shannon smiled, "Alright, Allie it is. Where's the kitchen?"

Allison pointed, "Over there."

"I'll start cooking then. Mr. Fisher said he'd be back for dinner tonight, so how about three dishes and a soup?"

Allison nodded, "That sounds great."

...

Joshua finished up his work and told the driver to head to Windswept House, the villa he’d gotten for Allison.

To avoid the awkwardness of having no spare clothes for an overnight stay, Joshua made sure to bring new toiletries, bathrobes, and casual clothes, filling several large suitcases.

When he reached the door, Joshua rang the bell.
