Chapter 257 I’d Love to
Natalee was embarrassed. She forced a smile and said, “Okay, let’s eat.”
Samara withdrew her hand, lowered her head, and unhurriedly scooped a plate of soup for Natalee. Then, she scooped another plate for herself.
Natalee did not say anything else. She did not know what else to say.
Samara did not say anything either. All one could hear was the jingle of their cutlery in the private room.
Natalee found it hard to swallow the food, She just had a few bites before she totally lost her appetite.
Samara had a good appetite. All the dishes she ordered were palatable. She ate to her heart’s content.
Natalee had already stopped eating long ago. Looking at Samara, who was sitting opposite her and eating with relish, Natalee got a lot of feelings.
Samara slowly finished the food on her plate. Then, she took a sip of the soup and wiped her hands with a napkin. After that, she picked up the tea cup beside her and took a few sips. Finally, she picked up the jewelry that Natalee had placed in front of her and placed it in front of Natalee. “Mrs. Humphrey, this is for the next Mrs. Humphrey. You gave this to the wrong person.”
When Samara said this, a faint smile played on her face. However, her voice took on a colder tone.
Natalee’s face stiffened. “Samara, you love Chaim very much, don’t you?”
“Right, I loved him very much.”
Samara paused for a moment. “I did love him, but I don’t love him now.”
Natalee still wanted to say something, but Samara did not want to hear it. “Mrs. Humphrey, if you want to persuade me to get back with Chaim, then I don’t think there is a need for you to do so. I, Samara, always do what I say. The Humphrey family is out of my league, and so is Chaim. What’s more, I guess an ordinary girl like me doesn’t deserve to be your daughter–in–law.”
Although Natalee’s word did not carry much weight in the Humphrey family, only Eric dared to order her around. When Samara married into the Humphrey family, she was very respectful to Natalee. This was the first time that Natalee was mercilessly ridiculed by Samara.
Natalee’s face immediately darkened. “Why, why do you have to make things difficult for yourself?”
“I’d love to!”
Besides, she didn’t make things difficult for herself.
Samara sneered. “I still have work to do. I’ll take my leave.”
