Goodbye, My Ex... novel Chapter 8

Half an hour later, the taxi arrived at Hockley’s house in the southern suburbs.

The ancestor of the Hockley family used to work for Her Majesty, after several times of historical wars, the house given down by the ancestor was still intact. Today, it was worth nearly one billion dollars.

When the taxi stopped in front of the house, the Maybach coming in the opposite direction also slowed pulled to a stop.

The man who got off from Maybach didn’t wrinkle his suit at all, his thin lips pursed into a straight line, and his eyes lifted to see Rosemary.

Charles Hockley, how did he come back?

Rosemary was stunned and immediately thought that this was the Hockley family. It seemed that he had the right to come back to his own home for dinner.

Several paths in the yard led to the main house. Rosemary didn’t want to meet Charles, so she chose the smallest path. When she arrived at the main house, the maid came to greet her, “Good evening, young ma’am.”

Rosemary’s face stiffened, nodded and followed the maid into the room.

The old ma’am of the Hockley family was only in her sixties. She looked younger in her dark blue dress. She was talking to Charles in the living room with a smile on her face. After hearing the maid’s notice, she quickly stood up.

Rosemary walked into the living room and greeted sweetly to the old ma’am: “Grandma!” Like she never left, and like the old woman was her real grandma. She was forever a "Girl" in grandma's eyes since she married into this family.

“Ah! Come here, my girl!” The graceful Rosemary deepened the smile on the old ma’am’s face. She moved her body and asked her to sit next to her, “Girl, sit here and let grandma have a good look at you.”

Charles, sitting on the side of the old ma’am, drooped his eyes and tasted tea. His whole body was exuding an indifferent senses that Rosemary did not exist.

Rosemary bit her lips and sat down.

Her sitting position was very close to Charles. The strange and familiar cold breath on the tip of her nose made her dizzy and uncomfortable. She moved her buttocks slightly away from the man behind her.

The old ma’am was delighted to see Rosemary and asked many questions.

Later, when it came to the topic of Rosemary’s father and mother’s accidental death, Rosemary lost in sorrows.

The old ma’am looked this in her eyes and hugged Rosemary in her arms, “Silly girl, why didn’t you tell grandma such a big thing?”
