Chapter 769 That's Why You Bought It For Me
Beata and River went back to the car.
Beata leaned back in the seat, not happy at all.
She took out the phone and turned it on, completely forgetting how she tricked her brother over.
However, at this moment, she really didn't have the slightest intention to make trouble.
River didn't start the car, but turned his head and looked at Beata with amusement.
"What's wrong? Why are you unhappy?" River asked.
Beata pursed her mouth, looked towards River, and said, "River, we made Averi unhappy."
She made things self-defeating. What should she do? How will she face Averi in the future? Will Averi not like her in the future?
Just thinking about this possibility caused Beata to collapse a bit.
She didn't even know what to do.
River said, "Why do you think so? She will not be happy when we boost her sales?"
When Beata heard her brother say that, her heart became even colder.
She looked at her brother and was about to cry.
Beata said, "River, do you think that Averi is taking advantage of me for the sake of her sales?"
It must be like this. Otherwise, how could her brother say that?
Beata was on the verge of tears.
She didn't intend to be like this. Why did it become like this?
She really wanted to make a profit for Averi, but she didn't want her brother to misunderstand her.
But now, she actually made it like this.
Beata felt that her heart ached to death.
However, she couldn't just be knocked down like this.
She had to make it clear to her brother that it was not like this and Averi was not that kind of person.
Beata said, "River, don't misunderstand Averi. She didn't use me, and she didn't want to use me at all. Don't misunderstand her. Don't think she is a bad person. She is not."
River looked at Beata amusedly. This was the first time Beata talked to him with such an attitude.
It was also the first time he saw such a big reaction from Beata.
River said, "You trust her so much and protect her so much?"
Beata nodded vigorously and said, "River, I'm not a three-year-old child. I can naturally tell who is a good person and who is a bad person. Averi is not a bad person."
River chuckled and said, "Even when you're thirty years old, you're just a kid in my eyes."
Beata was dumbfounded.
How could it be like this?
Beata pursed her mouth and said, "River, you are misleading me. You are digressing. We are clearly talking about Averi."
River shook his head helplessly and said, "You don't have to think too much. I buy this for you because you like it. Or, do you think I'm really crazy, so I just buy the most expensive one for you?"
Beata tilted her head when she heard the words, looked at River, and laughed suddenly, "Then I just picked the most expensive one."
But, in fact, she really liked it.
It was just that she didn't realize that she actually liked this set.
River said, "With that look in your eyes, I can tell whether you like it or not."
Beata let out a sigh. What more could she say?
It just showed how well her brother knew her.
But was it really a good thing? He intentionally created misunderstandings even though he knew what was going on. Beata felt herself getting angry again. She looked at River and said, "River, you're so bad! Don't you know Averi must have misunderstood? How am I supposed to face her now?"
River replied, "Let me ask you, did she use you for anything?"
Beata shook her head vigorously and said, "No."
"Did buying this help boost her sales?" River asked again.
Beata shook her head once more and said, "No way! She doesn't need that."
"Then what are you worried about? That she will misunderstand something?" River asked calmly.
Beata furrowed her brows and suddenly didn't know how to answer his question anymore.
What was she worried about exactly? It wasn't like that at all. Why was she scaring herself like this?
Suddenly, Beata burst into laughter as she looked at River with shining eyes and exclaimed, "River, you're really bad!"
River accepted the compliment from his sister with pleasure while Beata cut him off with an exasperated tone before saying, "I'm going to find Averi now! You... I love you the most!"
Then, Beata opened the car door like an excited rabbit hopping out of its hole before running towards Indesit Jewelry.
River watched as his sister's figure disappeared from sight before shaking his head helplessly.
That girl... she didn't care what kind of image she had of herself in front of others.
She ran straight into the VIP lounge area where Averi was working without any warning.
Averi hadn't let the negative emotions affect her work earlier, instead choosing to internalize them until after work hours when they could be properly dealt with later on.
So when Beata rushed in unexpectedly apologizing profusely for earlier events, it caught Averi off guard momentarily but quickly regained composure, asking, "What's wrong?"
Beata leaned closer towards Avieri, looking up at here apologetically and saying, "Avieri. I want to apologize."
Averi curled the corner of her mouth and said, "What's wrong? Why do you have to apologize?"
"I made a mistake and didn't take your feelings into account, and I have repented," Beata said.
All of Averi's negative emotions seemed to be dissipated at this moment.
She looked at Beata and said, "No, it's not that serious."
"No, it's serious," Beata said, "I know, you don't need me to boost your sales, but I still called my brother. And I haven't made it clear to my brother. But, Averi, believe me. My brother didn't misunderstand you, really."
Hearing this, Averi suddenly felt her eyes hot.
She didn't even notice it herself. What she cared about was that she really didn't want to be misunderstood by River.
Beata didn't hear Averi's voice, so she leaned closer to her again and said, "Averi, don't be upset, okay?"
She just lay down in front of Averi like a poor puppy, looking at her like that.
Averi felt that she was so cute, raised her hand to touch Beata's head, and said, "Okay, I'm not unhappy, so don't think too much about it, okay?"
"Really?" Beata was still a little uneasy, and leaned in front of Averi again, carefully confirming it.
Averi nodded and said, "Really."
Even if there were some negative emotions before, she was better now.
Beata immediately laughed and said, "Averi, I actually really like that set of jewelry. My brother saw through me at a glance, so he bought it for me."
