Healing my disabled husband novel Chapter 770

Chapter 770 The Wittiest Little Assister

Averi completely reconciled when she heard Beata say that.
She said, "Do you really like it? Not because of the price?"
"Of course not," Beata immediately said firmly, "I'm not such a superficial person. How could I only look at the price? That would make me seem exaggerated."
"Okay, since you've already said that, then I believe it." Averi said.
She turned around, went to take out a packed bag, handed it to Beata, and said, "Then take this and I really believe it."
Beata didn't know what to say.
Why did she feel that she was tricked by Averi?
Beata looked at Averi with a pitiful expression and said, "Averi, are you not following the rules by doing this?"
Averi replied, "We agreed earlier that if you didn't accept it, I would be really upset."
Beata's eyebrows furrowed as she looked at Averi.
She hesitated for a moment before saying, "Averi, are you trying to condemn me morally?"
"Yes," admitted Averi openly.
She even winked at Beata, which only made her more frustrated.
Beata felt like her brother was right. Even though she was thirty years old now, she still acted like a child. She felt like these two troublemakers were bullying her.
"Averi," Beata said. "This isn't okay! How can you bully someone as cute as me? Do you have conscience?"
"Nope," replied Averi.
She suddenly found joy in teasing this girl. It was just too much fun for her. However, seeing how genuinely upset Beata was getting made her feel guilty.
"Okay, fine," said Averi finally relenting. "I'm just joking with you because I like you so much! So here are some gifts for you. Don't worry about it! Think of them as cute hair ties that I saw and thought of giving to someone special."
Beata thought about it and realized they would soon be family anyways, so why not let her brother spoil Averi instead?
With that in mind, she happily accepted the gifts from Averi, feeling relieved when she saw no signs of anger on Averi's face.
Suddenly feeling very smug about all the presents she had received today from people who liked her dearly, Beata turned to look at Averi, saying, "Averi, I feel like I am the happiest girl in the world right now! Receiving so many gifts in one day from people who care about me makes me so happy!"
Averi chuckled softly when hearing this comment.
She realized how much more fondness grew within herself towards this adorable young woman every time they interacted, despite sometimes having strange thoughts cross through her head.
"Well, then," said Averi, smiling warmly back at Beata. "if that's what makes you happy, I'm glad."
"So, Averi," asked Beata, snuggling up close once again. "when do you get off work?"
She came to see Averi today, but her main purpose was to go play with cats.
She hadn't played with any yet, so she didn't want to go home just yet.
Averi could tell what she was thinking and said, "You want to play with cats, don't you? Wait here for a moment while I explain things and then we'll head home."
Beata nodded eagerly and couldn't believe how great Averi was.
In fact, she liked Averi more than anyone else in the world! Of course, Beata couldn't let her brother hear that or he'd get jealous.
Beata took hold of Averi's arm and asked if they could eat at home.
"Averi," she said excitedly. "I have to tell you that my brother is an amazing cook!"
Averi looked skeptical. It was hard for her to imagine River cooking anything at all!
But Beata insisted, "I'm not lying! My brother really can cook well. It's just that he hasn't cooked in ages."
In reality though, Beata had a secret plan in mind.
She remembered the time when she was very young and had fallen ill, she craved oil-braised prawns (a dish not recommended for someone recovering from an illness).
River had made them for her anyway, because he loved his little sister so much.
Even though River didn't like making greasy food like this normally, he indulged his sister's request because of his love towards her.
Beata would never forget how moved she felt when eating those prawns - they were the best thing ever! They were unique because they were made by River himself with lots of love poured into them.
When Beata suggested having dinner together earlier on today, she suddenly remembered this dish again.
Why not let Averi try some food cooked by River himself?
After all as the saying goes, "the way to a man's heart is through his stomach". Of course, this saying applies equally to women.
So Beata decided that no matter what, she would make sure her dear brother showed off his cooking skills in front of Averi.
Averi said, "Don't you want to ask your brother's opinion before making the decision for him?"
Beata waved her hand dismissively and said confidently, "No need. My brother loves me so much and I have such a strong request. He will definitely cooperate."
Averi was helpless. This girl knew that River doted on her.
Beata shook Averi's arm and looked at her with pleading eyes. "Averi, please say yes! Can we go grocery shopping together later and then cook at home?"
Although reluctant, Averi agreed anyway. "I don't mind."
"Yay!" Beata jumped up excitedly with joy.
"I'm going to call my brother now." Beata said.
She didn't know if River had left yet or not but the thought of going grocery shopping together made her feel happy and sweet inside.
Beata felt like she had conquered herself with her own wit and cleverness - she was the most intelligent assistant in the world!
