Chapter 356
Agnes didn’t wrap up her work and get back to Celestial Skyline Hotel until 3 a m
She had been shooting into the wee hours for the past couple of days.
Her life was completely upside down, which was totally draining her
But when Agnes got back to her hotel room, she found Jared was still up, wide awake.
He was outside on the balcony, puffing on a ciggy.
This threw Agnes for a loop.
Jared hardly ever smoked unless he was seriously bent out of shape about something
Agnes dropped her handbag and made a beeline for him.
She kicked off her shoes and tiptoed across the thick carpet, not making a peep.
She came up behind Jared and wrapped her arms around his waist, whispering softly, It’s 3 in the morning, why aren’t you asleep yet?”
Jared was so caught up in his thoughts that he didn’t even notice Agnes was back.
He stubbed out his ciggy, turned around, and gently stroked Agnes’ cheek, “Are you beat?”
Agnes shook her head, “Nah, seeing you perks me up.”
Agnes wasn’t one to go all soft and mushy.
Whatever anger and pain Jared had been feeling due to Beatrice’s provocation seerned to lessen a bit.
Jared pulled Agnes into a tight hug.
Her hair fell loose.
It wasn’t very long, but it did reach past her shoulders.
Jared had kissed every inch of her, so he knew about the tiny tattoo at the back of Agnes’ neck.
It’s a simple hexagon.
Small, but not particularly eye-catching.
To Jared, a tattoo was no big deal.
It didn’t necessarily mean a girl was rebellious or unruly.
And even if it did, he didn’t give a hoot.
After all, Agnes had been learning Taekwondo since she was little, so a bit of rebellion was no skin off his nose.
But what Jared never imagined was that Agnes tiny tattoo had something to do with her first love.
Despite knowing that Beatrice’s intention was to drive a wedge between him and Agnes, he wasn’t about to fall for her bait.
But ever since Beatrice spilled the beans, Jared couldn’t help but… couldn’t help but ponder
What kind of past did that first love have with her?
What did Agnes do for that person? What did she give?
Despite knowing it was all water under the bridge, and Agnes wouldn’t have anything to do with that good-for-nothing anymore, it still hurt like hell.
He was jealous…
He was jealous that the person she met at the prime of her life wasn’t him…
Jared gently brushed Agnes’ hair aside, taking a closer look at the tattoo.
It was still there, a plain Jane hexagon, what could it possibly signify?
“Agnes?” Jared suddenly broke the silence.
Agnes was nestled in his arms, her eyes shut, just soaking up the serene moment.
