Heartstrings on Fire (Agnes and Jared) novel Chapter 384

Chapter 384

The beads on the ground were from the bracelet Albert just gave Agnes today

Some guy just came over and accidentally broke the string of the bracelet, now the beads were all scattered on the ground.

That guy was shaking like a leaf now

A bunch of people nearby were also scared out of their wits, Dude, this seems to be Albert’s bracelet, there’s a special jade on it, it even has Albert’s seal engraved on it, no one else could copy that, let alone dare to, Agnes actually has Albert’s bracelet, what now, we’re in deep doodoo.”

The guy also seemed very nervous. He was trembling and barked at everyone, “What are you waiting for, gather the beads, there are 16 in total, not one less.”

So everyone got down on their hands and knees and started searching for the beads.

Agnes was already exhausted and thought she wouldn’t be able to escape this crisis.

But unexpectedly, those people suddenly changed their attitude, crawling on the ground, seemingly searching for something

The blond guy also seemed very nervous

He went over to Agnes and started kowtowing repeatedly

His eyes were full of fear when he looked at Agnes, “Miss, I was wrong. I shouldn’t have offended you, please forgive me, if you can’t accept my apology, hit me, hit me however you want.”

Agnes was at a complete loss

The blond man suddenly grabbed her injured hand, seemingly trying to use it to slap himself.

The unexpected touch to her wound made her wince in pain, and he quickly released her. Then, in a surprising move, he began hitting himself, crying out, “I was wrong. Ms. Pritchard, I was wrong. Please forgive me! I’m so foolish.” Following his lead, the others began doing the same, creating an absurd spectacle

The scene left Agnes dumbfounded.

Regardless of their odd behavior, Agnes knew she needed to seize this moment to escape. She pushed herself up and hastened away.

As Agnes was about to leave, the blond guy quickly followed her

Then he stuffed the bracelet into Agnes’s hand: “Miss, your beads, please forgive us, we really know we were wrong”

After saying this, he started slapping his own face again in front of Agnes.

Agnes felt overwhelmed, clutching her beads as she fled. Soon, she found herself in the city and hailed a taxi under the comforting glow of city lights. Arriving at the hotel, she unexpectedly bumped into Mamie, who was just returning

Mamie noticed Agnes’s disheveled state immediately. On closer inspection, she saw Agnes’s sleeve soaked in blood. Alarmed, she exclaimed, “What happened? Why are you bleeding?”
