Jared wasn’t an ordinary person, he despised it when people tried to flatter him. 

He’s got this deep, steady thing going on and his eyes, they look like they can see night through you. 

A kid’s flattery wouldn’t do anything to him. 

But then, when Leo turned his head by chance, he saw a genuine smile on Jared’s face. 

Leo was gobsmacked 

It’s been a long time since he’s seen Jared smile like that. 

Four years, give or take. 

Ever since Ms. Pritchard went missing, Jared’s been sporting a poker face. 

Who’d have thought that a kid’s innocent flattery would get the big boss to crack a smile? 

Leo could tell, the boss seemed to like this little kid a lot 

Jared asked, “Why were those folks chasing you yesterday?”

After dinner, Leo drove him to Epochal Square. 

Jared also tagged along, sitting in the backseat with Nocturne. 

Jared asked, “Is your mom coming to pick you up?”

He could ye just had Leo drop the kid off.

If possible, he’d like to introduce the kid to Ryder.

Soon, the car pulled up at Epochal Square. 

Noctume got out of the car, and Jared followed. 

Nocturne pulled out his phone and made a call. 

After exchanging a couple of words, he hung up. 

Nocturne looked up at Jared and said, “My mom will be here soon, she wants to thank you properly.” 

Jared just ruffled his hair and said, “I’d like to meet your mom too.” 

Agnes drove to Epochal Square. 

She spotted Nocturne in the middle of the square from a distance. 

She was fretting the whole day. 

Not just her, everyone was on edge. 

That night, Nate discovered that her system was under attack, and after counterattacking, she realized that Interpol had already set up a trap at Imperial Hotel, aiming to nab Sean, 

But by then, Sean had already taken Nocturne into the Imperial Hotel. 

Nate quickly notified Sean. Albert’s birthday party was canceled. 

But from that moment on, Sean and Nocturne were off the grid. 

Later, Nate hacked into the hotel’s surveillance system.
