Chapter 533
Agnes was shocked, “Granny, do your hands shake a lot? What happened? Why didn’t you tell me?”
Her grandma replied, “It’s just a common thing that happens when you get older, no big deal. You’re busy with your work, I didn’t want to worry you for no reason.*
Just then, a few doctors walked in.
“My health is fine,” sighed grandma, “These doctors keep checking up on me every day, making it seem like I’m really sick.”
Agnes quickly approached them, “What’s going on with my grandma?”
The doctors looked at Agnes.
They noticed the old lady’s affection for the girl and finally said, “She’s in the early stages of Alzheimer’s. It’s not severe now, but she needs care to prevent it from getting worse. We are doing our best.”
Agnes was shocked.
She turned to look at her grandma.
Her grandma was still there watering the vegetables in the courtyard.
Alzheimer’s, Agnes knew, was a common illness in the elderly.
She didn’t expect her grandma to have it.
Agnes was heartbroken.
She turned around, “Did Mr. Whitfield arrange for you guys to take care of my grandma?”
The lead doctor replied, “Mr. Whitfield is very concerned about your grandma’s condition. He has provided the best medical care, and we monitor her condition every day. Thankfully, we found it early enough to effectively control it.”
Agnes didn’t take her grandma away from the nursing home.
Instead, she convinced her grandma to stay there for a few more days.
When she left, Agnes was feeling a whirlwind of emotions.
Once she got in the car, all she wanted to do was cry out loud.
She had misunderstood Jared.
He never used her grandma as a weapon to threaten her, nor did he ever intend to harm her.
Instead, Jared had arranged for the best medical team to treat her grandma.
He even brought all the lambs and chickens that her grandma raised back home to make her feel more at home here.
Doing so must have required a lot of effort and money.
Agnes didn’t understand why Jared would do this.
Didn’t he hate her?
Agnes was heartbroken.
In the afternoon, Agnes booked a flight to the Capital.
Nate had given her a specific address.
Agnes had to find Lundy to learn about some past events.
Finding Lundy went smoothly.
Lundy still kept his habit of walking his dog after dinner.
