Agnes suddenly felt like laughing. 

It seemed like some invisible force was always messing around. 

Whatever she tried to avoid always found a way to pop up right in front of her.

She and Jared hadn’t been apart for long. 

And yet, here they were, running into each other again. 

It was like being in a maze, no matter how hard you tried to escape, you always ended up bumping into each other. 

What’s more ironic, Nocturne was currently perched on Jared’s shoulder. 

Why did fate always have to shove Nocturne in Jared’s direction? 

This was the thing Agnes feared the most. 

In the end, Agnes didn’t get out of the car, so she just watched as Jared put Nocturne in his car and drove away. 

Agnes sat in the car, zoning out, a sudden feeling of helplessness washing over her. 

Before long, Kerri came out and she quickly hopped inthe car. 

Kerrr said, “Agnes, I’m sorry, Jared took Nocturne. But he’s taken him to the hospital now. Let’s go back to the hospital. I’ll make sure to bring Nocturne back safely.” 

Kerri was all twisted up inside too. 

She knew Agnes had been dodging Jared. 

The one person who could probably understand Agnes best in the world was probably Kerri. 

Kerri knew that once Jared found out about the kid. 

Agnes, would be in the same boat as her. 

They could be facing endless meddling from him, even a fight over custody of the child. 

But they were weak, how could they fight back 

They would have to run around with the child, without even a stable place to live. 

Kerri had been there and done that, she couldn’t let Agnes go down the same path. 

And this whole thing happened because of her. 

So, no matter what, she had to bring her son back. 

Agnes was still zoning out, seemingly not noticing Kerri getting in the car. 

Kerri called out again, “Agnes.” 

Agnes finally snapped back to reality. 

Kerri said, “We’re going to the hospital now, Nocturne must have been taken there by now, but the person who took him is…” 

“Jared.” Agnes finished for her, calmly. 

Kerri was taken aback. 

Agnes looked down, “I saw him.” 

Kerri said sadly, “I’m sorry.” 

Agnes laughed, “It’s not your fault. It’s just fate pulling a prank on me.” 

Kerri didn’t know how to comfort Agnes. 

But Agnes seemed calm, “No matter what, we have to go to the hospital now, but I can’t show up. You take Nocturne and when Jared leaves, I’ll come get him.” 

Kerri nodded and returned to the hospital. 

She saw Jared waiting in her office.
