The interview wrapped up pretty quickly.
Agnes said, “It was a pleasure interviewing you today, Miss Sharon. I hope we'll have the opportunity to collaborate again in the future. I'll make sure to treat you to a meal next time.”
Sharon, devoid of any airs, responded amicably, “Actually, I should be the one treating you next time. We'll definitely make it happen.”
Accompanied by her agent, Sharon left the interview room to attend a gala. As the Best Actress, the spotlight was naturally hers tonight.
Agnes began packing up her things when Yolanda approached her, her tone dripping with an undertone of malice. “You didn’t stick to the original script, Agnes. You improvised and changed the interview content. Maybe you should take over my job as the director.”
“You should know that your interview script was extremely subpar. Asking those questions would not only have tarnished the reputation of our station but would also have stirred up public outrage. I doubt that's the sort of outcome our boss would want.”
“You can't threaten me with the boss. He’s my father-in-law. He approved my interview script. Sharon's reputation in the entertainment industry isn't exactly stellar. The public is more interested in that sort of juicy gossip. Who doesn’t know that her win had some help? Who genuinely cares about her movies or work? Gossip and scandals attract more traffic!”
Agnes retorted, “Journalists should maintain a certain level of professionalism. We aren’t paparazzi. Private scandals aren’t what we should be focusing on. If the boss wants to punish me for changing the script, then so be it.”
Agnes turned on her heel and walked away.
