The leaders of the Station were almost all clustered in the News Department's office.
When Agnes arrived, everyone was in Yolanda's office, waiting for her.
The other colleagues in the office shot Agnes glances filled with a complex mix of emotions.
Agnes could faintly overhear their murmurs, “Is she really Jared’s ex-wife? Who would have thought that Agnes isn’t just one of us, but she’s the former Mrs. Whitfield.”
“I knew there was something about her. A brilliant woman returning from overseas, and yet she’s content with being a mere freelance reporter in our News Department without a staff position. Now it makes sense, she’s using the network’s influence to expose Sharon. Cold move though, waiting until Sharon won the Best Actress award to take her down from her high. I feel for Sharon.”
“Agnes doesn’t look like that type of person. Let’s not jump to conclusions without knowing the full story.”
Agnes headed straight to the office.
The Station head, seeing Agnes, looked as if he wanted to throw his computer at her face, “Agnes, I never pegged you for this kind of person. I specifically asked you to interview the award-winning actress, and what is this mess you’ve written? We are a reputable TV station, not some trashy tabloid. You’ve completely tarnished our image.”
Facing a barrage of scolding, Agnes' voice remained calm, “Sir, I didn't write this story, nor did I publish it. The original footage of my interview from yesterday has already been sent to Ramona for post-production. The interview video should be in her inbox.”
