Alyssa paused for a second as she walked in, remarking, “That outfit looks great on you.”

Cilian glanced down at his clothes, a smile playing at the corners of his mouth. “I dressed up for the occasion just to see you.”

Alyssa couldn't help but laugh. “At our age, does it really matter?”

But Cilian's smile was gentle. “It's different because in my heart, you'll always be that carefree little girl.”

The term ‘little girl’ struck a chord in Alyssa.

Alyssa had expected Cilian’s response.

“What’s the second favor?” Cilian asked.

Alyssa said, “I want you to withdraw Ryder’s power within the Thomas Group. I don’t want to wake up one day to find the Tim Group swallowed up by your empire.”
