Emily shuddered and her mind immediately went blank.
How could she forget that she had gone to two hospitals to have a checkup? The results of the checkups were that she was infertile. Later on, she felt lucky to be pregnant and felt that it was the fortune given by god.
Now, as she thought about it...
"Franklin, would you believe me if I say the child is yours?" Emily asked in a trembling voice.
Franklin was stunned and then sneered, "You dare to tell such a lie just to leave. Emily, I really admire you."
The corner of Emily's mouth twitched and she said anxiously, "I'm not lying. Why do you say I'm lying?"
"If you are telling the truth, then what should you say about your child. Either he wasn't born by you or you lied to me back then." Franklin said coldly.
Emily, "..."
She now had a feeling that she could not explain what happened thoroughly because she felt that Franklin would not believe her no matter what.
"Are you going to lock me up for the rest of my life?" Emily asked with her red eyes.
Since when did she and Franklin become so distant?
"Go to sleep. If you don't sleep, we'll go on. When it's time for you to leave, I'll let you go." Franklin said slowly.
Emily immediately closed her eyes. Whether she could leave or not, she would definitely not be able to continue.
Franklin curled his lips when he saw her pretending to be asleep with her eyes closed.
No one knew how long it had been and Emily really fell asleep again.
When she woke up again, the room was still empty, and she wondered if she shall call Franklin.
She was really afraid of him. She was afraid that he would repeat what happened before when he came over.
But now she was thirsty, and there was not even a water dispenser in the room. There was only one bathroom and she couldn't drink the water in the bathroom.
"Slam. Slam." "Franklin." Emily slammed the door again and shouted.
Soon, footsteps came. Emily subconsciously wrapped her clothes and took a step back.
The door opened, but to Emily's surprise, it was not Franklin who opened it.
"Lisa, why are you?" Emily asked in surprise.
Lisa held a tray with food and drink on it. She said to her, "Mr. Brent told me to take care of you. You're hungry! Have something to eat first."
Emily immediately picked up the glass and took a sip of water, then sat down with the tray in her hand to eat.
As long as it wasn't Franklin, she would be relieved. These days, she was really afraid of him, and her legs became weak when she saw him.
"Where's Franklin? Where did he go?" Emily asked as she ate.
Lisa said happily, "Do you care about Mr. Brent? Mr. Brent has gone out to do something. If you miss him, I can call him immediately."
"No! Don't do that." Emily said with a frightened expression and immediately stopped her.
Lisa frowned and said, "Why? Don't you miss Mr. Brent?"
"I don't miss him. I prefer that I'll never see him again. You mustn't call him. It would be better if that thing costs him a few more days. This gives me time to breathe." Emily said in a bad tone.
Lisa glanced at the red marks on her neck and could not help but blush and cough softly. Lisa tilted her head and chuckled.
Emily said in embarrassment, "Are you still laughing? Don't you feel sorry for me at all? Although you are on Franklin's side and you do everything for him, we have been through thick and thin together before. We are friends, right? You can't be too biased. You can't still stand by his side after seeing what he has done."
