"Young Master Matthew, nice to meet you here. Mr. Brent, how are you doing?" Jason asked with a smile. Of course, "Boss Brent" referred to Aaron.
Matthew was in a bad mood because Lisa ignored him, so he scolded Jason angrily, "You should ask my father personally how he's doing. Don't bother me about that. How do I know whether he is good or not."
Jason, "..."
Aaron's unaccountably anger words choked off his moves and he looked at Matthew awkwardly, not knowing what to continue.
"What's your attitude?" Lisa was unhappy to see that and immediately scolded Matthew.
Matthew saw that Lisa was angry, stunned for a moment, and then he looked at Lisa and Jason doubtfully. Then he remembered that Lisa and Jason were both Franklin's valued assistants, so Matthew thought that Lisa and Cheng Heng were close because of work, and he immediately smiled and said, "Don't be angry. I was just joking with Jason. Jason, you will not be angry, right?"
As he spoke, he winked at Jason.
Jason knew that Matthew was always like that, so he didn't bother to get angry. He smiled and said, "It's okay. I'm not angry. I'm not angry."
Lisa glared at Jason resentfully, as if blaming him for his good temper.
Jason, on the other hand, smiled at her as if to tell her that he didn't care. Lisa was angry that she glared at him, but there was nothing she could do about it.
And at the same time, Franklin and Emily were also arguing upstairs.
At first, when Emily saw Franklin coming back, she immediately went up to him excitedly and asked, "How was it? Did you go to meet Daniel? Did you see Bryce? Did Bryce come back with you?"
After asking a few questions in a row, she looked forward to Franklin's answer.
But she didn't expect Franklin to look at her in a daze and say nothing.
This made Emily extremely anxious, and she asked anxiously again, "Why don't you answer? What the hell is going on? At least make a sound."
"I saw Daniel, but Daniel said the child was his and he had a paternity test." Franklin gazed at her.
Emily was stunned and subconsciously replied, "How is that possible? You wouldn't believe such nonsense!"
Franklin said coldly, "Yeah, I don't want to believe it either. But he even did a paternity test. Do you think someone like Daniel will lie to me? Will he regard my son as his? Just because of my son's intelligence? and because he has no child?"
Emily knew what Franklin meant. He didn't believe her at all!
So Emily said even more eagerly. "How do I know why? I haven't even seen Daniel before. It's the first time I've heard his name. How could Bryce be his son? What evidence does he have? What paternity test? Did you see that with your own eyes? You think he won't have to lie, but I will lie? You know quite well what kind of people I am. If Bryce wasn't your child, I would have told you long before. There's no need to lie to you."
Franklin frowned. He thought what Emily said made sense, too. Moreover, Emily was still with him when Bryce being born, so she had no chance to know Daniel at all.
But that was Daniel, who was not a lowly gangster who wanted to use this excuse to extort money at all!
There was no need for Daniel to lie to regard another man's son as his, unless there was a compelling reason.
Franklin was confused and depressed. And he thought about the past unpleasant experience between him and Emily, which made him clearly knew that there must be other causes for this situation, but he didn't make it clear but instead look at Emily doubtfully.
Emily was so angry that she lost her mind when she found that Franklin looked at her suspiciously instead of saying anything.
Pushing him away, she said coldly, "I'm going to see Daniel myself. I'm going to ask him what's going on."
