Emily fell asleep. Franklin put on his clothes and went downstairs. Lisa was still sitting on the sofa in a daze.
From the moment they went upstairs till now, she didn't even change her posture.
"Tell me! What's going on?" Franklin sat across from Lisa with a cold face and asked.
Lisa was stunned and she looked at Franklin in a daze. When she came back to her senses, she quickly stood up and said, "Mr. Brent, what... What's going on?"
"Do you still want to hide it from me?" Franklin's eyes turned cold and he said in a deep voice, "There's a reason for crying for no reason."
Lisa shuddered in fear and remembered her crying with Emily.
But how could she have the nerve to say such a thing? How could she have the nerve to tell Franklin about all the things she had with Jason?
Seeing that she was silent, Franklin asked in a deep voice again, "What? Can't you tell me?"
Lisa quickly shook her head and said embarrassedly, "It's not that I can't tell you, Mr. Brent. It's... There's nothing worth saying. It's just some trifles."
"It doesn't matter. You know. Even if it is a trifle, I want to know it because I want to know everything that has anything to do with her." Franklin looked at Lisa in a more comfortable position. It was as if he had to hear it today no matter what.
Lisa swallowed her saliva and stammered for a while. Then, she told the whole thing.
After saying that, Lisa lowered her head and she was so ashamed that she wished that she could find a crack in the ground and get inside.
Franklin, on the other hand, had been listening with a serious face. He was surprised after listening. He didn't expect a woman like Lisa to be so irrational. He also didn't expect that Jason could be jealous to such an extent.
When he thought about what happened between him and Emily, he wondered whether they were also so ignorant and ridiculous.
Wasn't this ''the spectators see the chess game better than the players''? Others saw clearly the crux of the problem but they couldn't even notice it.
"Well, I see. It turns out to be this. Don't worry. I'll have a talk with Jason. I'll also reprimand Matthew and ask him not to pester you anymore." After a while, Franklin coughed softly and comforted Lisa.
However, Lisa's attitude was not positive. She thanked Franklin and said, "Thank you, Mr. Brent. I hope it won't bother you. But I will solve this myself. You don't have to worry about me. It's Miss Johnson... I thought something happened to Miss Johnson at first, so I was in such a hurry. Later, when I heard Miss Johnson say that she was okay and it was just a misunderstanding. Since that's the case, you should coax her. After all, she's a woman, and women have to be coaxed."
Franklin smiled and said, "Thank you for still caring about me. You don't have to care about her anymore. You don't have to look at her anymore. Just do what you need to do! You're right. Women need to be coaxed. I'll tell Jason about that."
Lisa blushed. Why did he talk about Jason again?
But she didn't dare to talk with Franklin anymore and she left quickly.
After Lisa left, Franklin sat on the sofa for a while. Then he called Jason and talked a lot with Jason before he went upstairs.
Emily was still asleep. After all of these, she was tired a long time ago. Now, she closed her eyes tightly and fell into a deep sleep.
Franklin also lay on the bed. He lay on his side and looked at her. From time to time, he reached out his fingers and gently rubbed her soft cheeks.
