Emily nodded and struggled to get out of bed.
However, she managed to get up but her legs went numb.
Emily was embarrassed. When Franklin turned around and saw that she was still in bed, he picked her up and carried her to the bathroom with a smile.
After washing up and eating, Emily felt refreshed and began to ask about the wedding.
She didn't dare to ask for more details while Franklin was angry. She thought it might be a good time to ask about it now.
Sure enough, Franklin was not as emotional as he was before.
He said slowly, "The date has been set for next Sunday."
"Ah, so early?" Emily was surprised.
Franklin said with a long face, "It's better to be early than late. I want it to be earlier so that I can take you back as soon as possible. There's no point staying here any longer. But he was afraid that the wedding would not be grand enough, so he decided to set the date next week. Hmph, it's not a real wedding. Why bother?"
"Maybe it's a real wedding." Emily said, and then she pursed her lips in a smile.
Franklin could help to reach out and pull her into his arms. He asked, "What do you mean? What else do you know?"
Emily nestled in his arms and told him about Daniel. After saying that, she sighed, "It would be great if that woman showed up. By then, brother can have the wedding with her."
Franklin didn't know about these things, but he said with certainty, "It won't work out. They are not in the same situation as ours at that time. I was very careful and I was sure you would be with me. But his situation is different. That woman hasn't come back yet. We're not sure whether she will come back or not. How can they get married right away?"
Emily thought about it and suddenly felt sorry for Daniel.
"Well, I feel pity for him. He's been alone for so many years. Why is that woman so cruel?"
"I didn't hear from you for four years either." Franklin's teeth itched with hatred at the thought of this.
Emily pouted and retorted, "Why didn't you look for me? I was not far away from you. As long as you tried, you could definitely find me."
"Well, forget about it. It's all in the past. There's no point in talking about it anymore." Franklin's eyes darkened, and he regretted what happened back then as well.
When Emily saw his sad expression, her heart ached for him.
Why did he bring it up again to make himself feel bad?
"Okay, okay, don't be sad. Let me kiss you." Emily kissed him fawningly.
Sure enough, it worked. Franklin's eyes immediately lit up, and a faint smile appeared on the corner of his mouth.
"There's something going on in Lancaster. Jason and I are going back tomorrow. I'll get it done as soon as possible and come over to the wedding." Franklin told her about it eventually.
Emily froze for a second and looked at him in a daze.
Franklin sighed, pecked her on the lips, and said, "I don't want to leave you and Bryce either, but I have to deal with this."
