Her Brutal Alpha novel Chapter 26

A few years ago my mom had forced me to attend a class about mates where we were given information about our first shift, mates, heat etc. They informed us that being marked by a wolf and not allowing the mating bond to be completed would cause a female wolf to feel as if their organs were slowly turning inside out which had me wincing at the thought.

I continued to run, not allowing my wolf to stop even when she was beginning to become weak and exhausted, but then I felt the presence of another wolf. I abruptly stopped and crouched down angling my head to the side slowly analysing the woods around me.

"Luna?" The voice startled me for a second but I recognized it as Bryson. A sandy coloured wolf walked out between the trees and approached me. It was only Bryson, so I stood up but Bryson towered over me with his wolf form.

'What are you doing out here on your own? Does the Alpha know you're here?' He asked through the pack mind link.

Before I could answer a wave of heat rushed through my body causing me to whine and lay on my stomach, my head sitting on my paws.

Bryson was instantly by my side questioning me with incoherent words as he rushed out continuous mumbles.

'Are you alright Luna?' His words carried concern as he gently nudged my side with his snout only for him to quickly step away from me. 'Are you in heat?' He asked with wide eyes.

I closed my eyes tightly for a few seconds, waiting for the pain to dull for a while before nodding. 'You shouldn't be out here especially when you're in heat. The Alpha will be furious if a male wolf attempts to touch you.'

His voice was slightly scolding and I understood why. It was a dangerous situation for a she wolf to leave her mates side during heat as un-mated male wolves can't resist a female in heat.

'For some reason I'm unable to contact the Alpha, so I'll take you back to his house.' He said sternly.

'No!' I shouted through the mind link before lowering my tone. 'Can you take me to see Tilly?' I questioned but it was more of a demand. I got up carefully, walking in the opposite direction of Blaine's house. I could feel Bryson behind me. 'Luna-'

'Kenny, I hate formalities. Plus you're my best friends mate.'

He nodded his head and began to direct me in the direction of his house.
