The tone and attitude that seemed entirely focused on helping Lily were hard to refuse. It was hard to believe that Xavier didn’t know Landon’s invitation was about the renovation.

She couldn’t understand if Xavier wanted nothing to do with her, then why had he agreed to the face–to–face meeting? Why was he so persistent! 

Anything related to Xavier never went smoothly. But since her work was in Landon’s hands, Lily had no choice but to attend. 

After thinking it over, she devised a compromise and made a phonecall.. 

Golden Cove Hotel, located in the heart of Jadeford, was the city’s largest and most luxurious hotel. A meal here could easily cost six figures.

“Mr. Fulton!” Landon jumped to his teet and walked toward the door with a wide smile, extending both hands in greeting.

“Mr.Ashford Timothy smiled. “No need for formalities, please, take a seat.” 

Landon quickly waved his hands. “No, no, Mr. Snyder. You’re too kind. Mr. Fulton, please, you first! 

Xavier removed his coat, and someone immediately took it and hung it up. He sat at the head of the table, adjusting his sleeves and tie in silence. 

Timothy quietly asked, “Mr. Ashford, are you handling the renovation at Glenview Villa alone?” 

Landon glanced at Xavier, then at Timothy, quickly piecing things together. “Of course not. Please understand, Mr. Fulton. Lily is stuck in traffic. Once she arrives, I’ll make sure she downs a couple of shots to pay for it!” 

“Mr. Ashford, please take a seat” Traffic delays were a common excuse for tardiness, and Timothy wasn’t sure if it was true.
