Her Hidden Crowns (Suzanne and Austin) novel Chapter 256

Exhausted, Henry finally collapsed on the couch, the stick slipping from his grasp and clattering onto the floor. Only then did Mandy and Seline breathe a sigh of relief.

Henry's gaze fell on the jewelry pieces laid out on the table. In a fit of rage, he kicked the table and snapped, "Return all of it. Now!"

Twenty million dollars—gone. How was he supposed to explain this to the company? The check had been issued under Yates Corporation's name. If this financial hole wasn't covered soon, Suzanne would use it against him.

She had been keeping a close eye on his every move ever since she joined the company.

Mandy, still nursing her wounds, feared another beating. Clutching her head, she quickly agreed, "Alright, I'll return them immediately."

But a cold glint flashed in her eyes. She had finally gotten her hands on these jewelry pieces. There was no way she was giving them up so easily. And that old bastard Henry dared to lay a hand on her? He would pay for this.

Seline wiped her tears and hesitantly asked, "Dad, what happened to you? Why are you so badly hurt?"

Despite the seething hatred in her heart, Mandy masked her emotions and feigned concern, forcing herself to ask, "Honey, did someone attack you? Tell me who it was, and I'll make them pay."

She stepped closer, gently touching Henry's bruised face with feigned tenderness.

Irritated, Henry swatted her hand away. "Who else? It's that bastard, Frankie Lloyd!"

He had been completely played. Twenty million dollars! Gone, just like that!

Seething, Henry slammed his fist onto the couch, wishing it were Frankie's face beneath his knuckles.

Seline instinctively reached to check his head wound, but the moment her fingers brushed against it, Henry sucked a sharp breath and roared. "Don't touch it! Are you stupid? That hurts!"

Startled, she recoiled, tears welling up in her eyes again. "I didn't mean to…"
