Henry looked at Seline and asked, "What's your plan?"
A glint flashed in Seline's eyes as she leaned in and whispered to him.
Moments later, Henry's tense expression eased, a smile curling at the corners of his mouth as he nodded in approval. "Alright, we'll do it your way."
With the crisis seemingly averted, the tension in the room lightened.
Mandy gazed at Henry with feigned concern. "Honey, your injuries are serious. Let's go to the hospital. Seeing you like this breaks my heart."
Suppressing her resentment, she tried to appear worried.
Henry touched his bruised face and shook his head. "No need. It's just a small injury."
In reality, it hurt like hell.
A trip to the hospital would cost money, and right now, he couldn't afford unnecessary expenses.
Pointing at the jewelry on the table, he ordered, "Sell everything in this house. Bring me all the money. I need it."
Seline's face stiffened, and she was about to protest when Mandy grabbed her arm, stopping her. Mandy quickly answered, "Alright, we understand."
Only then did Henry's expression soften slightly. He gestured toward Seline. "Get the first aid kit and tend to my wounds."
Biting back her irritation, Seline complied and treated his injuries before silently heading upstairs. She was fuming on the inside.
In her room, she opened the safe and pulled out her treasured jewelry. As she adorned herself with the pieces, she felt a deep reluctance.
Did she really have to sell them?
Tears welled in her eyes and streamed down her cheeks. She had spent so long collecting these precious items.
A sudden knock at the door startled her.
Hurriedly, she shoved the jewelry back into the safe, wiped her tears, and opened the door.
Mandy stood outside, her expression dark. Glancing cautiously toward the master bedroom to ensure Henry hadn't noticed, Mandy slipped inside and shut the door behind her.
