Adam tapped furiously on his phone, sending the recording and the picture to the female anchor.

His heart raced, but a smirk tugged at the corner of his lips as he hit send. The truth was out, and there was no turning back now.

Brenda, still fuming from her failed ploy, charged at him like a bull. “You think you’re so smart, don’t you?” she screamed.

Adam sidestepped her easily, her outstretched hand just missing his arm. “Smarter than you, apparently,” he quipped, dashing toward the hallway.

“Come back here, you coward!” Brenda yelled, her heels clicking angrily against the tiled floor as she chased him.

Adam’s phone buzzed in his hand. It was a message from Sophie:

“We’re here.”

He glanced out a nearby window and froze. A crowd of reporters was gathered outside the hospital, cameras flashing as they jostled for position. His jaw dropped.

“Damn, Sophie. You work fast,” he muttered under his breath.

Brenda was still on his heels, her voice shrill with rage. “You think you’ve won, Adam? This isn’t over!”

Adam quickly raced out gears, making for the entrance of the hospital. He grinned inwardly, knowing exactly what he was about to do.

Brenda, blinded by anger, followed without hesitation. When she saw him heading toward the door, her eyes narrowed. “You think you can run from this?”

Adam stopped just shy of the entrance and turned to face her, his expression calm and collected. “Oh, Brenda,” he said, his tone mocking. “I’m not running. You are.”

Before she could respond, he threw the door open and stepped aside. The sudden blinding light of camera flashes and the deafening roar of reporters shouting questions caught Brenda completely off guard.

“Ms. Brenda, is it true you lied about Adam Monroe being the father of your baby?”

“Why did you try to frame him?”

“What do you have to say about the evidence he provided?”

Brenda froze, her face a mixture of shock and terror. She stumbled back a step, her hands flying up to shield her face.

Adam leaned casually against the doorframe, watching the scene unfold with satisfaction. “Smile for the cameras, Brenda,” he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm.

Realizing she’d been tricked, Brenda turned to Adam, her eyes blazing with fury. “You bastard!” she screamed, but the reporters were relentless, surrounding her and firing off question after question.

Adam’s phone buzzed again.

Sophie: “The interview has been uploaded.”
