Karina was leaving today, so I had decided to drop her at the airport with the driver.
"Bye Karina, I hope you visit us sometime again and next time you need to stay for a long time" Ridwan explained with his hands in his pocket, standing in front of the door with Ayo beside him as I helped Karina with her box into the car.
"Yes, I will" Karina smiled looking back at Ridwan after dropping her last bag in the boot of the car.
"Bye, Aunty Karina" Ayo said with a wide smile on her face.
"Bye dear," Karina said as Ayo walked towards her and immediately engulfed herself in Karina's arms for an embrace.
I opened the car door letting myself in and as Karina released herself from Ayo, she also entered into the back seat. Karina waved at Ayo and Ridwan as the driver started the engine of the car and drove off.
I looked down at the screen of my phone repeatedly as I bit on my lips while swallowing unnecessarily.
"What's going on, you look anxious and uneasy," Karina asked, looking in my direction.
"Hawa said the result for the exams will be out today and a mail will be sent if we were picked for the placement" I explained.
"I know how you get when you're expecting and anticipating something Te,s," Karina said placing her fingers over mine that rested on my side.
"It's going to be alright, you just have to believe " she assured in a ca and soothing tone. Karina had always been my go-to person when I had issues and needed someone to help me solve it. She was younger but then sometimes she gave good advice.
"So, how will you tell Ridwan or has he accepted that you can work now," Rina asked curiously
"I don't know how I will tell him but at this point, he doesn't have a choice but to let me work. This is what I want, this is my dream, so why would he want to take that from me" I explained with a furrowed eyebrow because all Ridwan was doing wasn't making sense to me anymore and I felt it was ridiculous and senseless.
