Technically, he had a point. However, Samantha still felt it was inappropriate, so she quickly changed the subject. 

“I’m fine as I am. Anyway, what do you want for dinner? I can go get it.”

She used her lips, feeling like she had nothing lett to do. 

That night, she settled onto the couch with a small bladet, prepared to stay with Ryan until moming. The doctor had mentioned that there wouldn’t be any complications as long as he showed no adverse reactions by 10:00 am 

So, she kept a close eye on him. 

As the hours passed, exhaustion crept in, and she began to yawn 

Ryan, on the other hand, seemed full of energy. He talked endlessly, going on and on, even though Samantha only responded with the occasional half–hearted reply. 

Lventually, she couldn’t take it anymore. 

“Can you please be quiet? Aren’t you! 

“Nope. I finally get to spend a night with you. Is it so wrong to want to talk a little? I’m not even asking you to say anything. But if you want to, I’d be happy to listen

Samantha’s head was buzzing. She had zero energy for conversation and waved him off. “Fine, 

And so, he continued his nonstop chatter. 

Frustrated, she pulled out her phone and messaged the attending doctor, “The patient is extremely hyperactive, almost manic. Is this a side effect?” A few moments later, the doctor replied, “No, this is his normal state of mind.” 

Samantha glanced at Ryan 

Was this how he was normally? It was terrifying. 

He was so loquacious 

She wished the doctor would just give him a sedative so he would shut up for awhile. 

Rubbing her sore ears, the protested again. “Mr. Shaw, if you don’t stop, I’m really going to fall asleep.” 

“If you’re sleepy, go sleep.” 

Samantha forced herself to stay awake, determined to see this through. 

Finally, after 4:00 am, Ryan finally dozed off. 

She drifted it, and out of light sleep, barely hanging o 

on until 10:00 IT. 

By then, he was still sleeping like a log, even snoring a little. 

The doctor came in to check on him. “Everything looks good. You don’t have to worry anymore.” 

“Thank you 

Samantha finally let out a breath of relief, feeling like she was just moments away from passing out.
