Sumanthandiously grabbed the corner of Layla’sshin, “What time is it now?” 

“6:30 pun. 

“Damn!” 

“What’s wrong?” 

“Nothing……” Samantha rubbed her stomach, suddenly feeling a bat embarrassed, “Layla, I’m lungry.” 

Layla let out a sigh of relief 

“You scared me — 1 thought something serious had happened. Are you past hungry? Perfect. I’m starving too. I’ll cook something for us. “ 

“Thank you, Layla!” 

“Why are you being so poline? I’ll call you when it’s ready.” 

“Alright” 

As Lada headed into o the kitchen, Samantha quickly pulled out her phone to check for any updates. 

It was completely silent. 

Leonardo’s contact sat there in her chat list, untouched. There was not a single message from him, which was strange. 

Whenever he was upset, he would usually bombard her with messages. But now, there was complete silence. 

Had he blocked her again? 

She hesitantly typed, “Are you there?” 

No system notification popped up. The message just sat there in the chat. 

Did it go through? 

That meant he hadn’t blocked her… 

So, she quickly followed up with more messages. 

“I’m really sorry about yesterday. Something urgent came up, and tenuldn’t make it. From now on, I’ll be there whenever you’re available. 

“Or if you want to set new conditions, I’ll agree as long as it’s within my ability.” 

Before, Leonardo would respond within seconds, but now? There were abunolutely no messages from him. 

She waited and waited, but there was still nothing. 

30 minutes passed, and he still hadn’t replied. 

Growing restless, she sent another message, writing, “What do I need to do for you to forgive me?” 

The message was send, but once again, there was no reply 

Samantha couldn’t stop her thoughts from spiraling. 

Maybe he didn’t have his phone on him, or he was in an Important meeting and hadn’t checked his chessages. 

She kept coming up with scenarios to reassure herself. 

Just then, Layla’s voice called but from outside. “Samantha, dimer’s ready!” 

“I’m coming 

Shalang off her thoughts, Samantha got up and went to eat. Maybe some food would give her the energy to think in a clearer manner. 

Över in the dining room was Layla, who had prepared fried chicken wings, tomato salad, beef chili, and mushroom soup. The mere sight of them was enough to make her mouth water. 

Samantha ended up eating two full plates of pasta 

Leyla laughed. “Every time I see you eat a lot, I feel like I’ve really accomplished something.” 

Au she helped clear the table, Samantha grinned. “That’s because you’re atamazing cook! You could totally be a professional chet.”
